U.S. Global Music Ambassador Justin Tranter to Headline “Story Studio: Uncharted Paths, Unconventional Approaches to Global Challenges” at Clinton Global Initiative’s 2024[...]

The U.S. Department of State announced today that Justin Tranter will continue their public service as a U.S. Global Music Ambassador at the Clinton Global Initiative's (CGI) 2024 Annual Meeting September 22 and 23 in New York. Tranter will headline a session of CGI's Story Studio session "Uncharted Paths, Unconventional Approaches to Global Challenges," where they will emphasize the positive power of music to bring people together, promote peace, and address the global issues of our time, especially as it pertains to the LGBTQI+ community.

Tranter, a two-time Grammy nominee and ACLU Bill of Rights Award-winning activist, will discuss how they have harnessed the craft of songwriting to leverage their platform, and call for more American music artists, songwriters, DJs, and producers to do the same. CGI's Story Studio is where trailblazers and innovators share stories from the frontlines of the world's biggest common challenges. This year's session will spotlight pioneers who have successfully implemented unconventional solutions to pressing global challenges.

The U.S. Global Music Ambassadors are the centerpiece of the State Department-YouTube Global Music Partnership, which was announced by Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken and YouTube's Global Head of Music Lyor Cohen earlier this year. Spanning genres of music and generations of people, U.S. Global Music Ambassadors build on the legacy of the iconic U.S. Jazz Ambassadors of the 1950s and 1960s and use their music to bring people together and promote peace worldwide on behalf of the American people.
