Oakland County launches Savi Student Debt relief program

Oakland County is excited offer free help to residents of Oakland County who are trying to eliminate their student loan debt through a new program called Savi.

Savi's mission is to assist borrowers in navigating the complicated student loan repayment system and help them find new debt repayment or forgiveness options. To date, Oakland County has 172,000 residents who collectively carry $6 billion in student debt. Through Savi's services, individual residents can potentially save thousands of dollars in student loan payments. Based on enrollment in just the past month, Savi has projected more than $10 million in loan forgiveness for current Oakland County participants. That's an average of $39,322 in forgiveness for qualifying borrowers.
