Seattle Police Arrest Two, Recover Guns, Fentanyl, Cash, Seize Two Cars During Aurora Proactive Patrols

Seattle police arrested a 20-year-old man and a 22-year-old man while also recovering guns, cash and fentanyl, and seizing two cars during proactive patrols in the Aurora Avenue Corridor.

In the evening hours of July 24, officers spotted a silver BMW sedan without license plates and a black BMW sedan without plates in the area of North 105th Street and Aurora Avenue North. Both ran red lights and were driving recklessly. The vehicles continued to travel together until they parked in a lot to exchange items and then left the area.

When police attempted to stop the silver BMW, the driver sped away and continued driving faster on Aurora Avenue North running red lights. Meanwhile, officers tracked the black BMW.

Both vehicles reconnected and officers moved in to detain those in the cars. As police approached the black BMW, a 22-year-old man tried to drive away, but they removed him from the vehicle and arrested him. He also tried to run away while in custody but was unsuccessful. Inside the black BMW, officers found a gun with a switch in the passenger seat and a rifle on the floorboard below.

Officers also detained the driver of the silver BMW, a 20-year-old man, and found a handgun in the driver's seat. The gun had its serial number scratched off.

Both vehicles were towed and impounded.

Following executed search warrants on the cars, Seattle police recovered in total, five guns, two of which were verified as stolen, as well as 150 grams of fentanyl and more than $18,000 in cash.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and eluding. The 20-year-old suspect was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm. The passengers in each vehicle, a 20-year-old man and 21-year-old man were both interviewed and released from the scene.

These proactive patrols are an ongoing commitment to our community members and business owners in the North Precinct as Seattle police continue to address violence in the area.
