Saint Mary Swimming Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors for 12 Straight Semesters

(Leavenworth, Kan.) - The University of Saint Mary men's and women's swimming teams have been named Spring Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America. The teams were chosen based on their outstanding academic performance during the spring 2024 semester.
The men's and women's teams have received the national honor every semester since the swimming program launched in 2018. During the fall 2023 semester, the men's team had the highest team GPA in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
"We are incredibly proud of our student-athletes for earning Scholar All-America Team honors," Head Coach David Bresser said. "This recognition reflects their dedication, hard work, and commitment. Balancing rigorous academic responsibilities with the demands of a competitive swimming schedule is no easy feat, and our team has demonstrated exceptional discipline and perseverance. We look forward to building on this success in the seasons to come."
The women's team earned a 3.54 GPA, and the men's team earned a 3.43. To qualify for the CSCAA prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
"The commitment to academic excellence shown by these teams is truly admirable," Executive Director of the CSCAA Samantha Barany said. "It's inspiring to see student-athletes excelling both in the pool and in their studies. The CSCAA takes great pride in acknowledging and celebrating the dedication and perseverance of these teams."
