Rumpke Waste & Recycling Expands Recycling Program to Include Plastic Clamshell Containers

Starting November 1, 2024, Rumpke Waste & Recycling will add clear plastic clamshell containers-such as berry, lettuce, carry-out, and egg containers-to its list of accepted recyclable items. This new capability is made possible by advanced AI and optical technology at The Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center, North America's largest recycling facility, which enables efficient sorting of clamshell plastics for reuse in new plastic products.

Rumpke encourages customers to toss clamshells and other recyclables, including plastic bottles, jugs, tubs, aluminum cans, paper, and glass, directly into recycling carts to help put more waste to good use.
