COLUMBUS - Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague has announced that the City of Norwood (Hamilton County) is the latest community to join OhioCheckbook.gov.
"The Ohio Checkbook provides Ohioans with an interactive and up-close look into how their hard-earned dollars are being put to use in their local communities," said Treasurer Sprague. "The Treasurer's office is proud to welcome the City of Norwood as its newest partner in the effort to achieve greater transparency at all levels of government."
The City of Norwood is the 55th local government entity in Hamilton County to be published on OhioCheckbook.gov. The city's checkbook includes 10,767 transactions representing more than $33.9 million in spending during fiscal year 2024.
"The City of Norwood has been working hard to build a stable state of finance," said City of Norwood Finance Committee Chair and Councilmember Candace Winterbaur. "Our auditor, Ken Miracle, has made great strides to build transparency and trust. OhioCheckbook.gov is another step in that direction to help our residents understand where their tax dollars are going while keeping everyone on the same page."
OhioCheckbook.gov was launched in June 2020. The transparency website combined OhioCheckbook.com (previously administered by the Treasurer's office) and Ohio's Interactive Budget (previously operated by the Office of Budget and Management) to create a single, one-stop resource for taxpayers to learn more about spending at the state and local government levels.
By streamlining website administration, eliminating duplication, and reducing overall operating costs, OhioCheckbook.gov will keep government transparency at taxpayers' fingertips for years to come.
