Le Maire Street fire
At 2:12 p.m., WFPS crews responded to reports of fire at a townhouse in the 200 block of Le Maire Street.
When they arrived on scene, crews found smoke coming from the structure. They went inside the house and launched an offensive fire attack, using water to put the fire out. It was declared under control at 2:39 p.m.
Residents of the home self-evacuated before crews arrived on scene. No injuries were reported.
Damage estimates are not available at this time. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was accidental, caused by an electrical malfunction.
Spence Street fireAt 4:12 p.m., WFPS crews responded to reports of fire at a two-storey converted multi-family dwelling in the 200 block of Spence Street.
Smoke was coming from the structure when crews arrived on scene. They launched an offensive fire attack, using hose lines to extinguish the fire. It was declared under control at 4:41 p.m.
Residents of the home self-evacuated before firefighters arrived on scene. There were no injuries reported.
The City of Winnipeg's Emergency Social Services teamwas called to assist the displaced residents find temporary accommodations.
Damage estimates are not available at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
