Kuwait Fund Signs Grant Agreement with Yemen for the [...]

October 24, 2024- The Kuwait Fund for Development signed a grant agreement valued at 300,000 Kuwaiti Dinars with the Government of the Republic of Yemen to finance the detailed designs and tender documentation for the Ibn Sina General Hospital rehabilitation project in Hadhramaut Governorate, Yemen.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Yemen by His Excellency Dr. Waed Abdullah Badhib, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, and on behalf of the Kuwait Fund by Mr. Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar, Acting Director General.

This grant aims to support sustainable development and enhance the healthcare sector by funding detailed studies for the rehabilitation of Kuwait Hospital, which was originally established through a previous grant from Kuwait.

The Kuwait Fund has a longstanding commitment to supporting Yemen, having financed numerous projects over the past decades to strengthen infrastructure, enhance healthcare and education, and provide essential services to the Yemeni people.
