Competitors in the VALORANT Challengers Japan 2024 tournament finals adopted Yamaha's ZG02 game streaming audio mixer to support their team communication during intense competition playing Riot Game's popular VALORANT tactical FPS.
VALORANT is a team-based, first person hero shooter that pits teams of five players, or "Agents", each against each other in a near-future, techno-thriller universe. During competition all players compete in real-time, implementing strategies and split-second decisions that rely as heavily on clear, cohesive team communications as each player's individual skills. As they play, competitors must pay strict attention to game sounds such as the opposing team's footsteps and gunshots, while simultaneously listening and speaking to team members to make tactical decisions. This makes it absolutely imperative for each player on stage to be able to create a sonic environment that best suits their individual preferences. The ZG02 is optimized for clear, uncluttered team communication during gameplay, and makes it easy for players to create just such an environment via a simple, intuitive interface that balances the volume of the three key audio signals players listen to as they play: "game sound", "player's own voice", and "teammate's voice" .
