Public Hearing Aug. 27 on Zoning Ordinance Updates Related to Roosevelt Road Corridor

The Wheaton Planning & Zoning Board will continue its public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 to consider an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to implement recommendations of the Roosevelt Road Corridor Plan. The meeting agenda and updated supporting materials are now available on the City's website.

The proposed amendment seeks to rezone properties along the corridor to allow for development that is appropriate for the area, responsive to existing conditions and respectful of residential areas adjacent to this corridor. This hearing continues an extensive process that incorporates the input of the community, City Council and City staff to update the City's Zoning ordinance to support development that is best suited for the different segments of Roosevelt Road and respects surrounding neighborhoods.
