Orange County serves the community with an extensive park system, boasting more than 15,000 acres of outdoor fun. From pristine waterways and hiking trails to play areas and dog parks, there is something for everyone.

Exploring nature with little ones is a wonderful way to create lasting memories. Orange County's parks aren't just places to visit, they are wonderlands waiting to be discovered. With pollinator gardens, winding nature trails, playgrounds and more, the parks offer endless adventures for curious youngsters.

While many of the county's parks offer something special for little ones, let's spotlight a few sites that offer extra family fun.

• Hit the trails - Immerse your little one in nature's wonders as you explore winding trails. Remember, trails like Cady Way and Little Econ Greenway offer smoother, stroller-friendly paths, while natural paths at other parks may call for an all-terrain or baby jogger. Consider a backpack or baby carrier for convenience and added safety.
• Native Critters - Play a fun game of "I spy" as your little one searches for critters like wild turkeys at Moss Park or migratory birds on the shores of Lake Apopka at Magnolia Park. Parkgoers often spot deer or bears at Kelly Park, adding to the adventure.
• Nature's Pollinators - Fluttering butterflies and buzzing bees in their natural habitat will delight tots at Magnolia Park and West Orange Trail.
• Beat the Heat - Splash pads are an oasis of fun, especially on hot Florida days. These refreshing spots are offered at Barber Park, Barnett Park, Bithlo Park, Downey Park, Capehart Park, and a recent addition at Dr. Phillips Community Park.
• Playground Fun - Most Orange County parks offer shady "Tot Lots" with bucket swings and carefree play for kids; and a place for mom and dad to beat the heat.
• Pack Supplies - Don't forget supplies to keep your toddler happy along the way. Drinks, snacks, sunscreen and bug spray are must-haves.
