Joel Hernandez Sought for 2023 Nashville Murder

More than a year of investigation into the June 15, 2023, fatal shooting of Nashvillian Majok Chol, 24, inside his car in the 5200 block of Tusculum Court has led to the indictment of Joel Hernandez, 24, on a charge of first-degree murder. Hernandez, who is last known to have lived in Smyrna, is a fugitive. Anyone seeing him or knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

Chol was found dead at 12:15 a.m. behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger that was parked in the middle of the street after meeting with the occupant of another vehicle. Investigation by Detective Joseph Patricio led to the identification of Hernandez as the suspect.
