Hall County facilities to close Friday, Sept. 27 due to heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts

Due to the potential for heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts and flooding in the area through Friday, Hall County Government facilities, including the government center, courthouse, community centers, landfill, compactor sites, animal shelter and libraries, will be closed on Friday, Sept. 27.

The landfill, compactor sites, community centers, libraries and animal shelter will reopen at normal business hours on Saturday, Sept. 28. All other facilities will reopen at normal business hours on Monday, Sept. 30.

If additional alterations to facility operations are necessary, Hall County will communicate to the public as appropriate.

"The safety of our employees and citizens is our top priority," Hall County Administrator Zach Propes said. "We encourage all citizens and staff to remain weather-aware until the impending storms are clear from the Hall County area and to report any hazardous issues that could be a danger to the community."
