SCDOT to implement lane shift on I-85, detour traffic on SC 14 in Spartanburg County

Columbia, S.C. (October 15, 2024)-The South Carolina Department of Transportation will implement a temporary traffic shift on I-85 North at Exit 57 in Spartanburg County. Traffic will be maintained on Exit 57 but will be shifted away from the work zone.

In addition to this shift, access to the airport from SC 14 North will be detoured to the next exit and will be routed south to the SC 14 exit.

The changes to traffic are necessary for crews to complete work on the Exit 57 ramp from damage that happened during Hurricane Helene. The shift and detour is expected to begin on October 17. The anticipated completion date is November 8.

A map of the detour route can be found below. Detour signs will be placed along the detour route.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention to signs and crews when driving through the work zone.
