Prolific Theft Offender Sentenced for Felony Grand Theft

CASE: Kevin Edwards (Case #24FE008322 & 24FE007414)

PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Adrianne McMillan, Organized Retail Theft Unit

The Honorable Satnum Rattu sentenced Kevin Edwards to 4 years county jail prison after Edwards pled to 4 felony counts of grand theft. Edwards was also ordered to pay restitution to four large retail stores impacted by the thefts.

Edwards is also a chronic theft offender at the Howe 'Bout Arden shopping center. In the last year, Edwards had at least 50 incidents of theft and was issued at least seven notices of trespass from Howe 'Bout Arden. Edwards continued to return to the shopping center and reoffend while on multiple grants of probation. Since April 2024, the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office has worked with the shopping center to reduce organized retail theft at their stores.
