Texas Democratic Party, Office Worker Union Sign Historic Collective Bargaining Agreement

AUSTIN, Texas - After voluntary recognition and contract negotiation, the Texas Democratic Party (TDP) and its office worker union, Texas Democratic Workers United (TDWU), have ratified and signed a groundbreaking four-year collective bargaining agreement (CBA). This historic, initial agreement marks a significant milestone in the Democratic Party's ongoing commitment to supporting its employees, ensuring fair wages, and fostering an equitable and collaborative work environment.

The agreement took effect last month and is a product of voluntary recognition and good-faith contract negotiations between the TDP and TDWU, represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union Local 277 (OPEIU Local 277). The CBA reflects the shared goals of both parties in creating fair working conditions, upholding workers' rights, and maintaining high standards of employment within the Texas Democratic Party.

"This historic union agreement shows that the Texas Democratic Party remains a leading example of worker solidarity in Texas," said Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa."Together, we continue advocating for fair wages, better working conditions, and ensuring that the voices of all Texas workers are heard and respected. I'm excited for what Texas Democrats can accomplish together as we fight for justice and equality for every working family in Texas."

"This agreement is not just a victory for the workers of the Texas Democratic Party, but a powerful example of what can be achieved when organizations prioritize the well-being and rights of their employees," said Marco Orrantia, member of the negotiating team. "We are setting a precedent that ensures our Party is reflective of the values we champion for all workers across Texas."
