Grand Junction Hosts Neighborhood Meeting for F 1/2 Parkway Phase Two

The City of Grand Junction is hosting a neighborhood meeting about the upcoming traffic improvements to F ½ Parkway on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at Colorado Mesa University Tech (2508 Blichmann Ave.) in room BB 113.

Phase two of F ½ Parkway construction will include traffic adjustments such as 25 Road reconstruction onto F ½ Parkway, access to the loop for more efficient travel to north Grand Junction, and safety for nearby neighborhoods. In addition to phase two construction, a name change will occur for F ½ Parkway and information will be available for residents and property owners affected by the change.

The benefits of the completion of F ½ Parkway include providing access to adjacent neighborhoods, alleviating traffic congestion, accommodating growth and new development, providing safer access for residents in the area, improving existing infrastructure and utility services, providing safe routes for pedestrians and cyclists while providing safe and attractive routes for pedestrians and cyclists.

In 2005 the F ½ Area Corridor Study was completed and findings presented a foundation for further transportation planning efforts that were incorporated into the adopted 2018 Grand Junction Circulation Plan. In 2019 voters approved ballot measure 2A, which provides funding for the F ½ Parkway, as well as multiple transportation expansion projects within the city totaling more than $70 million of improvements. More information about the project can be found online at gjcity.org.
