Bring your coastal zone expertise to the 2025 Coastal Cities Group

By Cal Cities Staff

The League of California Cities is accepting applications now through Oct. 30 for a year-long appointment to the Coastal Cities Group Leadership Committee in 2025. Representing the 61 cities within the coastal zone, the Coastal Cities Group collaborates on sea level rise adaptation, land use, and other coastal issues.

The leadership committee consists of one elected official and their respective city manager or staff designee from each of the six regions within the coastal zone. The committee helps facilitate the group's operations and plays a key role in its activities, including building relationships with California Coastal Commissioners and staff. It also serves as a conduit for related information and works with Cal Cities' policy committees and Board of Directors.

The Coastal Cities Group chair and vice chair positions are drawn from the leadership committee applicants.

Applicants will be reviewed for their leadership skills, policy awareness, expertise on coastal issues, and experience within Cal Cities. Applications must be submitted online. All applicants will be contacted in November regarding the status of their application.
