Terra State Community College student Allie Misko has been named the College's Rotary Student of the Month for September.

Misko currently resides in Rossford and graduated from Rossford High School in 2023, where she received Academic All-Star for Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Soccer, Scholar Athlete, and Honor Roll.

Misko chose Terra State because it allowed her to work on her Associate of Arts degree while remaining close to home. She mentioned that she knew a smaller campus would enable her to stay connected with the community. She also noted that Terra gave her the chance to continue playing the sports she loved at a college level. Overall, Misko felt Terra was the right choice, as it has allowed her to balance education, athletics, and leadership roles while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.

Outside of class, Misko has many passions. She is President of Circle K International Student Club, Student Government Vice President, Resident Assistant at The Landings in Terra Village, a 2023 volleyball athlete, and a 2024 soccer athlete. Misko is able to do all this while maintaining three jobs to help support her education.

Her nominator, Melissa Detwiler, librarian and manager of library services, regards Misko as a true team player and strong leader. "When the Terra volleyball team was no longer an option for her, she decided to play soccer. She plays in the entire game and gives her all. Playing soccer has been difficult due to injuries, but she is determined to make it through the season."
