Seton Hall Nursing Ranks Top 17 Percent Nationwide

Seton Hall University's College of Nursing is ranked in the top 17 percent of all undergraduate nursing programs nationwide according to the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings, reaffirming its status as a top-tier Bachelor of Nursing program.

In U.S. News' 2025 Best Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Programs, Seton Hall is ranked one of the top universities in New Jersey and holds the No. 7 spot nationally among Catholic colleges and universities.

"We are proud that Seton Hall's B.S.N. program continues to receive national accolades," said College of Nursing Interim Dean Kristi Stinson, Ph.D., R.N., APN-BC. "Since pioneering the state's first baccalaureate nursing program in 1937, Seton Hall has continued to set the pace for nursing excellence on the national level."

Record NCLEX-RN Exam Pass Rates

The College of Nursing's B.S.N. program continues to demonstrate its strength in other key areas. In 2023, graduates achieved a 96.4 percent first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), surpassing all previous years. Since 2019, Seton Hall students have consistently outperformed the national average, maintaining a first-time pass rate of 92 percent or higher.

Seton Hall's nursing program is known for its rigorous curriculum, active learning strategies, clinical experiences and simulations designed to develop critical clinical judgment skills. This record-breaking pass rate is a testament to the quality of education provided by the nursing faculty and the College's commitment to preparing skilled nursing professionals.

Simulation Center Receives $1.14 Million Upgrade

The College of Nursing, based at Seton Hall's Interprofessional Health Sciences campus in Nutley and Clifton, New Jersey, continues to lead in nursing education with its state-of-the-art Simulation Center. Here, B.S.N. students, alongside graduate nursing and health sciences students, engage in hands-on simulation and skills labs that mirror real-world healthcare scenarios, preparing them for clinical training and future careers.

In 2023, the College of Nursing, in partnership with the School of Health and Medical Sciences, secured a $1.14 million federal grant to enhance the Simulation Center's facilities. The grant has funded technology upgrades and new equipment, further elevating the quality of Seton Hall's clinical training. "In our cutting-edge simulation facilities, Seton Hall's B.S.N. students gain hands-on skills that equip them for the rigors of clinical practice and beyond," said Kathy Sanok, M.S.N., coordinator of the Clinical Skills Lab.

Graduate Online Nursing Programs Ranked Best in New Jersey

Earlier this year, U.S. News ranked Seton Hall's graduate nursing programs among the top in the nation for 2024. Seton Hall ranked 32nd, placing it in the top 17 percent of all U.S. programs, 4th among Catholic colleges and universities, and as the top-ranked program in New Jersey. The 2025 Best Nursing Schools guide also recognizes Seton Hall's Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) programs as leading programs in the state.
