Camden County EMA Hosts Hurricane Preparedness Meeting for Coastal Georgia Counties

Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) recently hosted a crucial meeting, bringing together emergency management and partner agencies from all coastal Georgia counties as preparations continue for the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season.

This collaborative event focused on sharing best practices and discussing ongoing projects, aiming to enhance regional preparedness and response strategies. Participants exchanged valuable insights and innovative approaches to address common challenges, fostering a united front to safeguard the community. The engagement and active participation from all agencies underscored a collective commitment to improving resilience and readiness for future emergencies.

Additionally, the meeting featured an informative hurricane season briefing from Al Sandrik of the National Weather Service Jacksonville, Florida. This briefing provided the latest updates and forecasts, equipping attendees with essential information to better prepare for and respond to potential hurricane threats. The insights from the National Weather Service are crucial for developing proactive measures and ensuring public safety throughout the hurricane season.

Participants were also provided a tour and briefing of the soon-to-be-opened Camden County Resiliency Operations Center.
