Planned Roadwork for Northwest Missouri, Oct. 7-13

St. Joseph, Mo. - The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in the Northwest Missouri region for the week of Oct. 7-13.

There also may be moving operations throughout the region, in addition to the work mentioned below. Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. Check the MoDOT Traveler Information Map at http://traveler.modot.org, or download the app for updated information.

Andrew County

Business 71 - Resurfacing project from Route 71 north of Savannah to Interstate 29 through November 2024. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.).

U.S. Route 169 - Survey work from the Interstate 29 (EXIT 50/King City) northbound on/off ramps to Heritage Drive, Oct. 8-10, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Atchison County

U.S. Route 59 - Resurfacing project from Route 46 near Fairfax to Interstate 29 through November 2024. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.).

Route O - Pothole patching from the Iowa state line to Route C, Oct. 7.

U.S. Route 59 - Pothole patching from Route C to 140 Street, Oct. 9.

Route CC - Pothole patching from the Iowa state line to U.S. Route 275, Oct. 11.

Buchanan County

Cook Road Bridge - CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project over Interstate 29 in St. Joseph through October 2024. (Contractor: Clarkson Construction Company) https://www.modot.org/interstate-29-bridge-rehabilitation-buchanan.

Caldwell County

Route D - CLOSED until further notice at the Shoal Creek Bridge due to deck deterioration. This bridge is currently scheduled for the January 2025 contractor letting through the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.https://www.modot.org/route-d-bridge-replacement-caldwell

Routes D & W - Resurfacing project Oct. 7-11. Each roadway will be narrowed to one lane and a 10-foot width restriction will be in place (Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons). *2

Carroll County

Route 5 - Ditching from Route T to French Road, Oct. 9-11.

Route 11 - Pothole patching from Route E to Route C, Oct. 7-9.

Clinton County

Daviess County

Route B - CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Ember Avenue to 327 Street, Oct. 7, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route B - CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route K to 262 Street, Oct. 8-11, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

DeKalb County

U.S. Route 69 - Intersection improvement project at Route EE through November. The roadway is narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals. (Leavenworth Excavating & Equipment Company, Inc). U.S. Route 136 - Resurfacing project from Stanberry to just east of U.S. Route 169 and from Route C to Route 13 (Harrison County) through November 2024. (Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.).

Route T - CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route EE to Route ZZ, Oct. 7, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Harrison County

U.S. Route 136 - Resurfacing project from Route C (Gentry County) to Route 13 through November 2024. (Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.).

Holt County

U.S. Route 59 - Resurfacing project from Route 46 near Fairfax to I-29 through November 2024. (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.).

I-29 - Concrete replacement southbound driving lane at milemarker 90.8, Oct. 7-9.

I-29 - Concrete replacement southbound passing lane at milemarker 86.6, Oct. 9-10.

I-29 - Concrete replacement northbound passing lane at milemarker 98.2, Oct. 10-11.

Livingston County

Route CC - CLOSED at the Leeper Creek Bridge southeast of Chillicothe for a bridge rehabilitation project through November 2024. (Capital-Horner & Shifrin). *1

Nodaway County

Route NN - CLOSED until further notice at the Platte River Bridge west of Parnell due to significant bridge deterioration.

Putnam County

Route 129 - CLOSED at the North Blackbird Creek Bridge for a bridge rehabilitation project through February 2025. (Capital-Horner & Shifrin). *1

Route U - CLOSED at the East Locust Creek Bridge for a bridge rehabilitation project through mid-December 2024. (Capital-Horner & Shifrin). *1

Route M - CLOSED at the Medicine Creek Fork Bridge for a bridge rehabilitation project through January 2025. (Capital-Horner & Shifrin). *1

Sullivan County

Route FF - CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Indian Drive to Route BB, Oct. 7-8, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Route DD - CLOSED for multiple culvert replacements from Route 6 to Route MM, Oct. 7-11, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Route FF - CLOSED for multiple culvert replacements from Route BB to Ivan Road, Oct. 9-11, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

*2 With the Governor's signing of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, an additional $100 million in General Revenue is available for Missouri's low volume rural roads. Using asset management data, the Missouri Department of Transportation has identified 1,567 lane miles of low volume roads ranked in Poor Condition. These locations will receive resurfacing treatments of hot mix asphalt to improve the road conditions. The roads are being bundled into several large contracts across the state.
