The new Cultural Arts gallery at the Event Center at Delhi Towne Square will be hosting its first solo exhibition featuring the photographic works of Dr. Michaelann Kelley. Moments is a collection of photographs that depict specific points in time when something-some object, some scene-caught my eye. We are often so preoccupied in our daily life that we fail to notice the beauty of the everyday. I do this quite often when I am busy checking things off my "To Do List." This collection is from the past several years when the COVID-19 pandemic made me slow down and to not only see but to observe. In these photographs, I document the allure of the everyday from my perspective; the charm of patterns in a ceramic bowl that caught my eye, or being awestruck by the grandeur of hundreds of balloons rising up and floating in the skies over Albuquerque. The exhibition captures moments in my life that made me stop, take it in, and breathe…and only then to archive the beauty.

The Department of Creative Arts is so excited to support the work of Michaelann Kelley. The Mount has always been a part supported its local community and their endeavors.

The photographs (color, black/white, and digitally altered) are currently on display and the official opening reception will be Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Show runs through October 18, 2024.
