Molina Healthcare Supports 2024 “Unforgettable Tour” to Help Raise Awareness for Alzheimer’s Association

08/20/2024

LONG BEACH, Calif., Aug. 20, 2024 -Molina Healthcare ("Molina") is a proud supporter of the 2024 Unforgettable Tour, which is presented by the Alzheimer's Association to raise awareness about Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia in underserved communities. The goal of the production is to draw more attention to the benefits of early diagnosis and treatment for a disease that affects nearly 7 million Americans, with a disproportionate impact on communities of color.

Older Black Americans are almost twice as likely to be living with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia as older white people, according to the Alzheimer's Association. Women are also more affected than men. By 2050, the number of people 65 and older living with Alzheimer's is projected to reach nearly 13 million unless new treatments to slow or prevent the disease are advanced.

"Molina is proud to sponsor the 'Unforgettable Tour' in locations across the country to help advance the Alzheimer's Association's work in educating and advocating for earlier treatment of this disease," said Dr. Jason Dees, EVP and chief medical officer, Molina Healthcare. "Molina believes early detection and equitable access is key to more effective treatment and improved quality of life."

Hill, Ph.D., MPH, chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, Alzheimer's Association.
