POMPTON LAKES LOAN CLOSINGS

June 28th, 2024 NJWB

NJ I-Bank and NJDEP Helping to Improve New Jersey's Infrastructure, One Project at a Time

The Pompton Lakes MUA recently closed on two loans with the NJ Water Bank totaling $16,005,200. One Loan will finance a drinking water project involving Well #3 PFAS treatment. In anticipation of new regulations proposed by the EPA, the MUA is financing planning and design for the construction of a new treatment facility at Well #3 to house equipment for PFAS removal. The project will bring the MUA into compliance with the new drinking water regulations once they go into effect. The second loan for a clean water project will finance the construction of a new pump station. Redevelopment of the business district will result in increased sewage flows. The existing pump station constructed in the mid-1960s has reached its useful life with no additional capacity. The new pump station will be able to handle the anticipated flow increase and bring the station up to date.
