Volume of Trades Up by 4%

Within the week ending on July 5, 2024, the IME witnessed trade of 2,315,758 tonnes of commodities with a total trading value of nearly 640 million USD, posting growths of 4% and 25% in volume and value of trades compared to the week before that.

According to a report by the IME's International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 1,647,377 tonnes of commodities valued at more than 328 million USD.

On this floor the IME sold 1,058,594 tonnes of cement, 260,848 tonnes of steel, 167,150 tonnes of sponge iron, 146,000 tonnes of iron ore, 6,435 tonnes of copper, 6,395 tonnes of aluminum, 1,740 tonnes of zinc, 200 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 15 tonnes of precious metals concentrate and 40 vehicles.

Moreover, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 644,859 tonnes of commodities worth more than 298 million USD.

Commodities traded on this floor included 286,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 149,873 tonnes of bitumen, 101,455 tonnes of polymeric products, 69,000 tonnes of lube cut, 31,217 tonnes of chemicals, 3,834 tonnes of oil, 2,950 tonnes of sulfur and 380 tonnes of feedstocks.

The IME also traded within the same week 23,522 tonnes of goods on its side market.
