Schneps Media recognized three leaders from NYC Health + Hospitals for its "Power Women of Brooklyn" recognition list for 2024. The honorees include Angela Cooper, Assistant Director of Communications, Public Affairs & Volunteering Services at NYC Health + Hospitals/McKinney; Lisa Scott-McKenzie, DHA, CEM, FABC, FACHE, Chief Operating Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull; and Seanna-Kaye Denham Wilks, Ph.D., Chief Experience Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. The recognition honors trailblazing female leaders making an impact in Brooklyn and improving the lives of New Yorkers throughout the city. Schneps Media is a local media company that reaches over 2 million readers per week across two daily newspapers and a large group of community newspapers, magazines, and websites.

Angela Cooper is Assistant Director of Communications, Public Affairs and Volunteering Services at NYC Health + Hospitals/McKinney. Cooper is deeply inspired by her network, who have allowed her to learn and grow in her role. Their integrity, compassion, dignity, and spirituality inspire and guide her as she pursues her passion: giving service to others.

Lisa Scott-McKenzie, DHA, CEM, FABC, FACHE is the Chief Operating Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull. Throughout her 38 years of service to the North Brooklyn community, she is well-known and respected for managing and leading core initiatives that have enhanced the patient care environment, increased profitability, reduced costs and contributed to the growth and operational success of the facility.

She is a capable fiscal manager who directs multi-million-dollar capital construction projects while working collaboratively to lead the Facilities Management, Engineering, Capital Construction, Central Sterile, Environmental Services, Emergency Management, Biomedical Engineering, Patient Relations, Hospital Police, Environment of Care, Support Services, Ancillary Services, Social Work Services, Public Affairs, Community Affairs and Patient Experience divisions. Dr. Scott-McKenzie firmly believes in the value of teamwork, motivational leadership and mutual respect. She also actively promotes the value of preparation and persistence to navigate the unique, changeable nature of health care in New York City. To that end, she mentors several others with the intention of preparing the next generation of healthcare leaders.

Seanna-Kaye Denham Wilks, PhD, is the Chief Experience Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. As a member of the hospital's Senior Cabinet, she directs patient experience and employee engagement strategies through transformational and person-centered approaches, and is nationally recognized for her work in this space. Under her leadership, Kings County has greatly expanded its involvement of patients and families in the design of the hospital's programming and physical plant. Dr. Denham Wilks has directed the establishment of such holistic practices as musical performances for patients, staff, and the community and mural installations designed in community forums with renowned local artists. She has prioritized and expanded employee well-being, recognition, and appreciation.
