National Emergency Preparedness Month

September is National Emergency Preparedness Month, and Padre Dam stays ready for potential emergencies every month of the year. High-powered generators are installed at our critical pump stations and other facilities to help ensure that we can continue moving water during power outages. The District's valve replacement and exercise program keep valves in good shape so emergency leaks can be isolated and turned off quickly. These steps along with countless others keep the District prepared.

Individuals, families and businesses are encouraged to take steps to prepare for emergencies, including keeping a gallon of water per person per day as part of an emergency supply kit. Find out more information about how you can prepare at www.ready.gov.
