Town of Fort Myers Beach September Special Events and Programs

The Town will be hosting various special events and programs at different facilities throughout the month of September. Please see below for details:

Mound House

Special Events:

First Friday - September 6, 2024, 9:00am - 4:00pm

Start the month off right with FREE ADMISSION to the museum and a day filled with FREE family activities. More tours, more programs, more fun!

Island Hopper - September 28, 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Cost: General Admission: $50; VIP: $75; Premium VIP: $90

Join two renowned songwriters, Time James and Jeff Cohen, as they perform at the historic and beautiful Mound House as a part of the Island Hopper Songwriters Fest! This multiday festival sees world class talent perform across different locations in Lee County, and we are thrilled to once again host this fun and exciting celebration of music!

Tickets include admission to the museum, and two 30-minute performances from Tim James and Jeff Cohen as well as drink ticket(s), and a book signing of Tim James' book Going Crazy after the show. Doors open at 2:00pm, concert at 2:30pm. Rain or shine! Ticket sales go towards the Friends of Mound House, a 501(c)3 organization founded to fundraise and advocate for Mound House.

Kayak con Arqueología- September 21, 9:00am - 11:00am

FEE: FREE - first come first serve

This Latinx Heritage Month join us at the Mound House Museum for a special bilingual kayak tour! In commemoration of Latino Conservation Week and in the spirit of "celebrando nuestra cultura afuera," this tour is an opportunity to get outdoors and discover SWFL's rich historical Latinx heritage as we paddle through the beautiful waters surrounding the museum. This unique event offers an engaging way to connect with nature and our shared history, while demonstrating how everyday citizens (even those without prior archeological training) can contribute to local archeological efforts.

We will also have free bilingual Shell Mound Tours and free Museum Admission on this day for all!

Bay Oaks Recreational Campus

Youth Programs

Club Rec - Entire School Year, 2:00pm - 6:00pm

FEE: Resident: $125/child; Non-Resident: $175/child

Club Rec is a Youth Program at Bay Oaks Recreation Center that offers an after-school program. This program provides a safe, structured, and fun place for your students to attend from 2:15 PM until as late as 6:00 PM after school Monday - Friday.
We offer a multitude of different activities that promote health and wellness, inclusion, teambuilding, creativity, and help build long-lasting memories and friendships for years to come! Each week, students will participate in both indoor and outdoor group games, trips to the Fort Myers Beach pool (upon reopening), test out their STEM skills, and have an opportunity to join some of our Clubs specifically designed around all their favorite activities.

FEE: $50/four weeks; paid directly to the instructor
