Hampton wins Digital Cities Award for the 22nd time

Nov. 6, 2024 - Hampton has once again been recognized for its commitment to innovation, securing a spot among the nation's top digital cities. Named by the Center for Digital Government as a Digital Cities Award winner for the 22nd time, Hampton placed 10th in the 125,000- 249,999 population category.

This recognition highlights the city's dedication to resident engagement, demonstrated by a range of recent initiatives. One major development is Hampton's new virtual city hall, integrated with the city's 311 system and powered by CHAMP (Choose Hampton), a virtual assistant. This system allows residents to choose their preferred method of communication - whether via chat, text, or the city's mobile app. The city has also introduced generative AI to streamline service requests, enhancing responsiveness and efficiency.

Additionally, Hampton's redesigned website delivers timely updates on community events, city services, and initiatives, further strengthening communication with residents.
