Mayor-President Broome Responds To Proposed Intergovernmental Agreement From St. George

Baton Rouge, LA - October 10, 2024 - What was released today is almost identical to what the City-Parish sent to the City of St. George last week, with a few exceptions. There's a legal loophole big enough to drive a Brinks truck through, which the City-Parish cannot agree to, as it could cost East Baton Rouge Parish taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. I cannot support exposing our taxpayers to such future liabilities, but I look forward to continuing negotiations in the near future.
