President el-Sisi of Egypt to visit Türkiye

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt will pay an official visit to Türkiye on September 4, 2024 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

As part of the visit, the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, which was restructured pursuant to the Joint Declaration signed on February 14, 2024 during the visit President Erdoğan paid to Cairo, will be held under the co-chairmanship of the two Presidents.

All aspects of the Türkiye-Egypt relations will be reviewed, and joint steps that could be taken in the upcoming period to further improve the bilateral cooperation will be addressed at the Council meeting.

Besides bilateral relations, views on current regional and global matters, ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories in particular, will be exchanged at the talks.

Various documents aimed at strengthening the contractual basis of the relations are likely to be signed on the occasion of the meeting.
