Israel launches new strikes

Israel has launched intense strikes in Beirut targeted at the new leader of Hezbollah, who is allegedly meeting there with other militants. Let's hope they make the job of Hezbollah leader one with a higher, faster fatality rate than being the drummer for Spinal Tap.
Meanwhile, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made a rare speech defending Iran's missile attack on Israel, calling it "legal and legitimate," and threatening worse retaliation if Israel strikes Iran. I'm surprised he came out of hiding to make that speech. Israel has yet to respond, but it's hanging over Iran like the Sword of Damocles.
President Biden is urging Israel not to take out Iran's nuclear facilities, which I'll bet everyone in the Middle East who's not part of Iran's government is praying they will do. I will never understand why Obama and Biden are so bent on protecting and financing Iran's nuclear program. It's not as if they lack energy (they're sitting on a sea of oil.) Everyone knows why they really want to enrich uranium. It's not just to nuke Israel but to threaten their other neighbors and America as well.
In that subscriber-only article at PJ Media, Robert Spencer quotes Iran's supreme leader saying to Iranians just last year that "When you chant 'Death to America!' it is not just a slogan - it is a policy." Spencer also writes, "According to a July 2022 report from the dissident news outlet Iran International, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) boasted that it would soon have the ability to transform New York into "hellish ruins." That would likely be with a nuclear strike from the facilities that Old Joe Biden doesn't want the Israelis to hit."
Maybe Biden's not worried because he figures that by that time, the Democrats will have already transformed New York into hellish ruins.
