Solid Waste Pickup Delays on July 5 due to Extreme Heat

Raleigh Solid Waste Services (SWS) will have a collection delay today (July 5) due to the extreme heat. This delay will help prevent staff injuries and illnesses caused by a high heat index. The heat index is what a temperature feels like to the average person when relative humidity is combined with the air temperature.

Solid Waste staff will collect on Saturday, July 6 as a result of the July 4th holiday. Residents may experience collection delays and should leave their carts at the curb until they are serviced.

Customers can check the website for updates and may also download the free Raleigh Reuse Appto receive information on service changes and updates.
