At the Ramstein Base, the President of Ukraine Met with the German Defense Minister

As part of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in the Ramstein format, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with German Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

The Defense Minister expressed condolences over the deaths of dozens of Ukrainian men and women as a result of recent Russian missile attacks.

The President informed Boris Pistorius about the situation on the battlefield, Russia's constant attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, and efforts to mitigate their consequences, provide aid to those affected, and restore damaged facilities.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Germany for providing Ukraine with the largest volume of military aid among European countries since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, particularly for air defense systems. He also shared details on the use of the air defense systems provided by Germany to protect the lives of Ukrainians.

"We thank your entire country and government. From the very beginning of this war, you have stood with us. We are grateful to your people for this," the President said.

During the meeting, they also discussed the timeline for the delivery of further defense assistance from Germany, specifically to enhance the protection of Ukraine's skies.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need to grant Ukraine permission and the means to strike Russian air bases, where carriers of guided aerial bombs are located.
