Rally BG on Main Event Returns on September 14th in Downtown Bowling Green

The City of Bowling Green and Bowling Green State University invite you to a fun event for people of all ages to gather, explore Downtown BG, welcome the return of BGSU students, eat and be entertained. The 4th Annual Rally BG on Main will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. in historic Downtown Bowling Green.

Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic for the duration of the event, allowing for a day packed full of fun activities in the heart of Bowling Green. A variety of free activities and performances are being planned throughout the day. Music, shopping, restaurants, food trucks, and DORA drinks will be available for the duration of the event. Thrill seekers will have an opportunity to zip line down Main or compete in the Ninja Warrior Course. Families will not want to miss a chance to get up close to a fire truck and police car, compete in the CycleWerks youth bike race "The Rally Cup", participate in sporting activities with BGSU Athletics, or have some fun with the Wood County Library. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet Freddie and Frieda Falcon, make a license plate, and support local shops and restaurants.

Mayor Mike Aspacher and BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers invite all to join in the Community Pep Rally, kicking off with the Bowling Green State University Band and Spirit Program at 4:30 p.m. After a few remarks from both the Mayor and President Rogers, the Bowling Green High School Band will round out the high energy event.

"I'm thrilled that the Rally BG event is returning for the fourth year," stated Mayor Mike Aspacher. "This event represents a true sense of community spirit, providing a welcoming space for friends, new and old, to join together in the heart of Downtown for a relaxed evening filled with positive energy," he said.

"Bowling Green State University is absolutely located in one of the best college towns in the nation," said BGSU President Rodney K. Rogers. "As we begin the academic year, we look forward to bringing together our students, the community and visitors at Rally BG on Main. We appreciate the great partnership between the City of Bowling Green and BGSU, and are excited for the return of this event, which has become a community favorite and one of the many that makes this community so special."

This event is being sponsored by the City and BGSU. Except for food and drink, this event is free of charge. A website has been created and will continue to be updated with the day's activities as the event draws near.
