Eastbound Lanes on Airport Road to Close on Monday

AMES, Iowa - Pavement removal of selected panels on the two eastbound lanes of Airport Road will begin on Monday, Oct. 14, weather permitting. The work will require the closure of both eastbound lanes on Airport Road from South Riverside Drive to east of University Boulevard. Vehicles will be shifted to the westbound lanes with a single lane of traffic heading each direction.

Iowa Earth Works has been contracted for the pavement removal. All Star Concrete and its subcontractors will be handling the underground improvements. The work is anticipated to take three weeks to complete.

All businesses on Airport Road will remain accessible. The shared-use path will remain open.

Motorists should be aware of construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling through the construction area.
