Explore events, sessions and other opportunities for local leaders at Greenbuild.

Local governments are on the front lines of climate change, and USGBC understands the unique opportunities and challenges that jurisdictions face. We've recently expanded and evolved our Local Government Leadership Program offerings and are excited to deliver another outstanding experience at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo for our member cities, towns and counties.

Certification celebration and reception

LEED for Cities and Communities Reception

Wednesday, Nov. 13 | 4-6 p.m. | Free | Registration Required

Join fellow leaders working toward more sustainable, equitable and resilient cities and communities for an evening of celebration and networking! Learn about our current projects, celebrate 2024 certifications and connect with the USGBC staff team supporting education, certification and data-driven solutions for the places you care about.

Note that you do not need to attend Greenbuild to participate in the reception. We will assist you with obtaining a complimentary Expo Hall pass with your ticket so that you can browse the hall while you're visiting the convention center.

Leadership roundtable

Transformation Building: From Green Buildings to Green Communities

Participate in this local government leadership roundtable at Greenbuild 2024.

Thursday, Nov. 14 | 8-9 a.m. | Free | Registration Required

We invite those who work for or with cities, towns and counties to our first-ever local government leadership roundtable. This event will provide a platform for USGBC to share recent updates while engaging local leaders and practitioners in our organization's diverse programs. Participants will engage in thought-provoking discussions, network and build community around our shared work at the city scale.

Expo Hall passes and tours

This is an opportunity for policymakers at all levels of government.

Wednesday, Nov. 13, and Thursday, Nov. 14 | 10 a.m.-5 p.m. | Free | Registration Required

The expo showcases green building technology, materials and ideas from across the country, as well as offering numerous interactive experiences and activities designed to connect you with today's cutting-edge products, services and technology. With your complimentary expo pass, you'll also have access to the trade show floor, networking opportunities, happy hours and education labs.

Fill out the policymakers expo tour form to express interest in a complimentary registration for the 2024 Greenbuild Expo as well as a guided tour of the trade show floor. Our advocacy and policy team will follow up with details.

A few additional notes:

  • If you would like to invite colleagues to join you, only one person needs to fill out the form and we can loop in the group from there.
  • Past attendees have recommended four or more hours to fully explore the Expo Hall; if that does not work for your schedule, 90 minutes will allow you to see the highlights. However, you are welcome to stay all day both days!
