Steil, Wisconsin Congressional Delegation Introduce Bipartisan Resolution to Honor Twelfth Anniversary of Sikh Gurdwara Tragedy

Milwaukee, WI (August 05, 2024) - Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) today introduced a bipartisan resolution joined by members of Wisconsin's congressional delegation to honor the twelfth anniversary of the horrific attack at the Oak Creek Sikh Gurdwara and remember the victims of the senseless act of violence.

"Twelve years later, we remember the worshippers whose lives were taken from us far too soon, and honor Lieutenant Brian Murphy who responded to the scene and was shot fifteen times at close range," said Steil. This senseless act of violence should have never occurred. I join the Oak Creek community in remembering the victims and thank each of my colleagues for supporting my resolution to honor the lives we lost."

Cosponsors of the resolution include Reps. Mark Pocan (WI-02), Derrick Van Orden (WI-03), Gwen Moore (WI-04), Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05), Glenn Grothman (WI-06), and Tom Tiffany (WI-07).
