DeRidder - On September 25, 2024, shortly before 6:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop D began investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash on Robert Clark Road west of Gambrell Church Road in Beauregard Parish. The crash claimed the life of 31-year-old Jaydan Paul Templet of DeRidder.
The preliminary investigation revealed Templet was driving a 2021 Hyundai Palisade west on Robert Clark Road. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and exited the roadway to the right. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment and into a creek where it overturned.
Templet, who was properly restrained at the time of the crash, received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Impairment is unknown at this time. Standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
Troopers wish to remind motorists to always make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive impaired, fatigued, or distracted. These simple precautions could mean the difference between life and death.
