"Extreme heat is negatively impacting the mental and physical health of our children, and in turn their educational growth. That is why Trust for Public Land is proud to support LAUSD's $9 billion bond measure with a $1.25 billion allocation for green schoolyards. LAUSD is leading by example by including guaranteed funding for green schoolyards including significant funding for green schoolyards will only help attract more voters to support passage of this critical bond. Kids deserve safe spaces where they can learn and thrive. Transforming heat-amplifying, asphalt schoolyards into cooling green schoolyards enhances student performance and creates healthier learning environments.
