At their Oct. 31, 2024 meeting, the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners authorized $30,131,800 for Johnson County Wastewater's State Line Road Pump Stations and Forcemain Project, bringing the total project authorization to $40,857,800. This project includes building two new pump stations and one common force main in the City of Leawood to convey flow generated in the Leawood basin to JCW's Tomahawk Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility. See attached maps for location.
The Johnson County Wastewater project will save ratepayers an estimated $100 million over 20 years.
The State Line Road Pump Stations Project is a critical component of JCW's 25-year Integrated Plan, and once completed this project will significantly reduce the flow currently conveyed to KCMO for treatment, saving ratepayers an estimated $100 million over a 20-year period. This project is projected to pay for itself within seven years.
Additional actions taken at this meeting include approving an agreement to partner with the City of Leawood for pavement and fiber optic improvements, a $12,455,101.16 contract with Rodriguez Mechanical Contractors, Inc., and a $10,839,000 contract with BRB Contractors, Inc.
Construction is scheduled to start this fall. The construction schedules are being finalized. To view presentations from open houses on this project, sign up for notifications or see the project schedule, please visit us online at jcwprogram.com/stateline.
