ONLY NY Introduces Exclusive Line of WNYC Centennial Wear

(New York, NY - November 21, 2024) - Only NY and WNYC today unveiled an exclusive line of apparel and accessories celebrating the Centennial anniversary of New York City's public radio station. Available starting today, the collection draws on WNYC's robust archives to highlight the station's century of service to the City as a source of trusted local news, culture, music, and one of the last bastions of civic conversation.

The t-shirts and sweatshirts feature vintage logos and poster designs from WNYC's 100 years on the air, including imagery from a 1940s subway campaign; a throwback to WNYC's time as a TV broadcaster with the "Voice of the City" logo, a show hosted by John F. Kennedy, Jr.; and artwork from WNYC's 1995 Independence Campaign, which saw the station transform from a city-run radio station into the independent, listener-supported media organization it is today.

No tribute to public radio could do without a tote bag - which public radio and TV popularized long before they became a staple of so many other brand campaigns and eco-conscious consumers.

"Through this exciting partnership with Only NY, we're celebrating not just our history, but the millions of New Yorkers who've made us part of their daily lives," said Kenya Young, Senior Vice President, Programming and WNYC Studios. "For a century, WNYC has been the soundtrack of NYC. We're excited to invite New Yorkers to wear these designs as we celebrate both our history and our future!"

"To have the opportunity to collaborate with an organization that we grew up listening to as lifelong New Yorkers makes this Centennial celebration that much sweeter with WNYC. We are forever grateful to be able to partner with and further tell the stories of such culturally rich institutions here in our city. From WNYC's rich graphic history and famed logos, we couldn't be happier with how everything's turned out. To another 100 years of public radio in NYC!," said Micah Belamarich and Julian Goldstein (Co-founders of Only NY).
