COLAs Online and Public COLA Registry: Issues with Printable Versions

TTB's online Public Registry for Certificates of Label Approval (COLAs), a part of TTB's COLAs Online system, is available to the public and provides information on approved labels, including the images of those approved labels. Many companies use this information to help run their business, and we are happy to make it available to all.

Recently, we've experienced a high volume of automated search requests that impacted our COLAs Online system, which includes the Public Registry. This caused several problems for those attempting to use the registry recently, particularly when attempting to view the printable version of approved labels.

To restore the printable version feature on the system to normal operations, we have added a temporary security verification feature called a CAPTCHA. The CAPTCHA is used to verify that the request comes from an actual person, not a computer.

When you select the option to view a printable version of an approved label, the system will now present to you a code.

Here is an example of what a CAPTCHA code request would look like:

In the event you encounter an error or "can't reach this page" message while trying to view the printable version of approved labels, we recommend trying again later (an hour or two), as this message may occur sporadically.

If the problem persists throughout the day, or if you receive a message that "The requested URL was rejected," contact the TTB Help Desk at [email protected] or 866-240-0835, as your computer's internet address may have been inadvertently blocked. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve this issue.

Please contact the TTB Help Desk at [email protected] or 866-240-0835 if you have any further questions or concerns.
