Arrest Made in Homicide on I Parkway in South Sacramento

At approximately 4:30 AM on June 17, 2024, Sacramento Sheriff Central Division Patrol Deputies responded to a call regarding a deceased male on the ground near I Parkway and Forest Parkway in South Sacramento. Deputies and Fire personnel arrived on scene, where the victim was pronounced deceased as a result of a gunshot. The victim was later identified as 31-year-old Sherman Gage.

Sheriff's Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the crime scene and began their investigation, interviewed witnesses, and collected evidence. From their investigation, Homicide Detectives identified 23-year-old Denisho Collins as a suspect in the homicide. When Collins was arrested, he was in possession of a loaded firearm.
Collins was transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail and booked into custody for PC 187(A) - Murder. Collins remains in custody on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 18, 2024.
