OROVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT MAKE ARREST IN EARLY MORNING ARSON ATTEMPT

Oroville, CA - On October 3rd, 2024, at approximately 12:40 AM, the Oroville Police Department received a 911 call reporting an unoccupied vehicle fire in the 2000 block of Wyandotte Ave.

Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle fire, which spread to a small patch of vegetation and was extinguished by residents. Officers located evidence under the vehicle that supported the fire being intentionally set. There was no notable damage to the vehicle. Officers canvassed the area and could not locate a person of interest at the time of the incident.

Upon reviewing surveillance footage and collecting witness statements, the Oroville Police Department's Investigation Unit gathered relevant information to identify the suspect and the suspect's vehicle. This ultimately led to the identification and arrest of Brandon Pillow, 25, of Oroville. Pillow was arrested on October 3, 2024, for three felonious arson charges and booked into the Butte County Jail.
