Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi Calls For Secret Service Director Cheatle’s Resignation

WASHINGTON - In the wake of yesterday's hearing of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability during which he questioned Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, Congressman Krishnamoorthi issued the following statement:

"Our hearing sadly confirmed my concerns about the Secret Service and Director Cheatle's leadership surrounding their failure to protect former President Trump on July 13^th. Beyond its indefensible mistakes earlier this month, the agency's current leadership also appears to be unable or unwilling to account for them or to work with Congress to prevent future failures. For the Secret Service to maintain the confidence of Congress and the country, it is necessary for Director Cheatle to resign."
