Undersheriff Casey Davis brings a wealth of experience to this position.

Undersheriff Davis started his career at the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office in April 2008 where he worked as a Road Patrol Deputy until being assigned to the Narcotics Division in February 2011. During his time in Narcotics, he worked as an undercover detective gaining new skills and experience. Undersheriff Davis gave quick assessment and provided life saving measures, where he was revived prior to paramedics arriving on scene. Undersheriff Davis also received an award in 2010 for interrupting a breaking and entering at the Ports of Call, a convenience store outside of Mattawan where he apprehended two suspects while inside the building.

In his personal life, Undersheriff Davis and his wife share seven children and three grandchildren, and reside in the Mattawan area.

Undersheriff Davis enjoys watching his sons play hockey and lacrosse. He also enjoys donating his time away from the office to youth sports and has been a coach since 2012.

Undersheriff Casey Davis has been part of the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office for sixteen years and looks forward to continuing his career in his new position. Undersheriff Davis is excited and enthusiastic about working with Sheriff Abbott in his new role.

The previous Undersheriff was placed on administrative leave in July following an investigation concerning Brady/Giglio matters.
After the matter was reviewed with the Prosecuting Attorney's Office, his employment with the Sheriff's Office was severed.
