TSTC’s East Williamson County campus sends off new graduates to the workforce

(HUTTO, Texas) - As summer completes, so does the education of 38 students at Texas State Technical College's East Williamson County campus.

Students graduated with associate degrees or certificates of completion during TSTC in East Williamson County's Summer 2024 Commencement held Monday, Aug. 19, at the Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Round Rock.

Tiffany Tremont, chairman of TSTC's Board of Regents, was in attendance.

"I'm proud to be at the East Williamson County graduation, and I'm proud to see graduates who attended technical school and received meaningful education," Tremont said. "I am happy to see they have jobs at the end. It's good for the students, the school and the state of Texas."

Board of Regents honor graduate Dayne Fenske, from Round Rock, received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Cybersecurity. Board of Regents honors graduates completed their education with 4.0 GPAs.

"I worked for a bit and stopped to focus on classes. Now it's time to get back to work," Fenske said.

Fenske does not plan to stop learning while he works.

"I'm going to focus on certs for now. I prefer to work and get experience," he added.

Devin Michener, from Georgetown, is currently working at Austin Air Services LLC. He received a certificate of completion in HVAC Technology.

"I'm finishing my associate degree in the fall." Michener said. "I really like what I do. I was working today repairing a 5-ton."

Isaiah Henderson, from Round Rock, received a certificate of completion in Precision Machining Technology.

"I'm not working yet, but I have a job offer I'm negotiating," Henderson said.

"This is a big career change. I have been with H-E-B, working in a deli since 2006. I'm excited about moving on to something new."
