We Listened So You Don't Have To: The Micah Beckwith Weird Weekly Roundup: October 31, 2024

October 30, 2024

INDIANAPOLIS - Welcome back to The Indiana Democratic Party's weekly series called We Listened So You Don't Have To: The Micah Beckwith Weird Weekly Roundup, which serves as a one-stop-shop that summarizes all the weird, offbeat, and simply gross things Mike Braun's running mate Beckwith says. Prepare yourself, people: It gets weird over there. Bonus: At the end of every Roundup, we'll include the cherry on top, AKA that week's weirdest moment.

Remember, Braun said on the convention stage in June, according to POLITICO's Adam Wren, about his running mate Beckwith: "Everything you believe in, I have as well."

Since this is our last edition prior to the election, we wanted to make it extra special. We give you: Beckwith's greatest hits - the worst of the worst.

  • That one time Beckwith posted an article on Facebook from a conservative website that blasted a pride event hosted by the city of Fishers. In a comment on the post, Micah said, "Sexually grooming children has been a part of the Fishers culture for a long time."
  • That time he took the battering ram to his own party's leadership and asserted the GOP's longtime weakness:
    • "In Indiana, we've got a supermajority, we've had it for 10 years, but we haven't really used it - it seems like we're scared of our own shadow when it comes to Republicans and conservatives," he said. "And the proof is in the pudding. When you hear nationally people talk about states that are really strong conservative states, they never mention Indiana… I think we've been managed well but poorly led."
  • And who could forget the time Beckwith slandered the four Democratic women candidates at the top of Indiana's ticket as having the "Jezebel spirit," comparing them to witches as a guest on a recent podcast episode.
  • Last but not least, remember the time Beckwith said that if elected lieutenant governor, he would fire any employee with pronouns listed in their email signatures? Mike Braun then shot this down, saying employment under his administration would be determined by merit alone. We just know Braun is sick of this guy's bats**t crazy.

And the cherry on top?

Just this week, Beckwith posted yet another joke about guns on his Facebook. Drumroll please…

The same guy, a so-called "pastor"(love thy neighbor? Do unto others as they do unto you?) thinks that the pinnacle of humor is buying 72,000 rounds of ammo. Micah must be a really bad shot.
